How is the lease price calculated?

Lease prices are subject to change and are primarily calculated based on the cost of the car at the time an order is placed and its anticipated resale value at the end of the agreement taking in to account the mileage and length of contract also being chosen.

How competitive is the jamjar pricing?

Being part of the Royal Bank of Scotland group, jamjar is able to negotiate good deals with manufacturers so we can pass on savings to our customers.

How long does it take until I have my new car?

The time between placing your order and receiving your new car will depend on lead time from the car manufacturer. Our customer care team will provide you with an exact delivery date as soon as possible.

Do I have to arrange insurance before the car arrives?

Yes, you are required to arrange the insurance of your new car as part of the terms and conditions of the agreement.

Does my car come with a warranty?

Yes, all jamjar lease cars are supplied with the full manufacturer's warranty. These do vary depending on the manufacturer so please check with our advisors if you need further detail.

What is included with a servicing and maintenance package?

The package includes all routine servicing, replacement tyres (not including punctures) and comprehensive AA breakdown cover for the duration of the agreement (some breakdown cover is included in the manufacturer's warranty however this typically is only for the first year).

What if I choose not to take the servicing and maintenance package?

If you opt for a non-maintained agreement all the service and maintenance costs will need to be covered by you. Additionally if you require breakdown cover beyond the cover provided through the manufacturer's warranty you would need to source this separately.

What if I exceed the agreed mileage on my contract?

This is not a problem. When your lease car is collected at the end of the contract the mileage will be noted by the collection agent on the collection report. If the mileage driven exceeds that stated in your contract then an excess mileage charge will be applied. A pence per mile charge will be made clear to you when taking out the lease deal and will be explict within your lease agreement. If during the course of your agreement you wish to increase or even reduce your mileage simply get in contact as these changes can be easily made and your monthly payments altered accordingly.

What are your return conditions?

The anticipated resale value of the vehicle at the end of the agreeement assumes the car will be maintained in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines throughout the agreement and subsequently returned in good condition. When the vehicle is collected the collection agent will make an assessment of the vehicle's condition; a copy of the report will be given to you before the agent leaves with the car. jamjar cars adheres to standards agreed with the leasing trade body British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA). For further details on fair wear and tear standards please get in contact. Should damage on the vehicle fall outside of fair wear and tear standards then charges as outlined in the table of charges will apply.

All of our new cars are sourced from motor dealers across the UK and are built to full UK specification.

What if I’m unhappy with the car after its delivery?
