How do I buy a car from jamjar?

Step 1 - Quick search – Use our car search to find and compare cars quickly.

Step 2 - Enquiry – When you’ve found a car you like, contact our advisors via phone or email to ask any questions about your chosen car and to discuss part exchange and finance options.

Step 3 - Vehicle order – Orders are taken by phone and then we send you a confirmation order form which should be checked, signed and sent back to us.

Step 4 - Payment and delivery – Delivery times vary, but we will let you know how long this will be once we have an agreed date with the manufacturer. Your new car will be delivered to an address of your choice. All outstanding monies must be cleared prior to delivery – choose any of the following payment methods:

  • CHAPS or BACS money transfer
  • Internet bank transfer
  • Banker's draft (cleared prior to delivery)
  • Motor car finance

Can I buy online?

jamjar currently doesn’t offer the facility to purchase your new car online.

How much do I need for a deposit?

The minimum deposit you have to pay is £150 for any car you wish to order. You have the option to increase your deposit if you wish.

How do I pay my deposit?

We accept payment by Debit card, Visa, MasterCard, Switch, bank transfers or cheque - whatever suits you best.

How competitive is the jamjar pricing?

Being part of the Royal Bank of Scotland group, jamjar is able to negotiate good deals with manufacturers so we can pass on savings to our customers.

How long does it take until I have my new car?

The time between placing your order and receiving your new car will depend on lead time from the car manufacturer. Our customer care team will provide you with an exact delivery date as soon as possible.

Does jamjar offer part exchange?

Yes, if you wish to part exchange your current car, we will be happy to give you a valuation based on the description that you provide us over the telephone. Please refer to the part exchange page for more information.

Do I have to arrange insurance before the car arrives?

We recommend that you insure your new car prior to delivery.

For customers using a jamjar finance agreement, fully comprehensive motor insurance is required as part of the terms and conditions of the agreement. The motor insurance policy will need to commence five working days prior to the delivery of your car – please call the customer care team so they can advise when and where to send this document.

Does my car come with a warranty?

All new cars are supplied with the full manufacturer’s warranty and road side assistance. These vary depending on the manufacturer so please check with a jamjar advisor to get more detail on this.

jamjar advertises cars from over 33 different manufacturers but if you can’t find the car you are looking for, we will endeavour to help you find it.

What if I’m unhappy with the car after its delivery?

If you are unhappy with your new car after your delivery we offer a 7 day money back guarantee where you can return the car and receive a full refund up to 7 days after the delivery date. Please see our Terms and Conditions for more information.
