The striking design of the all-new Land Rover 2017 Discovery sets a new benchmark. It stands out with wraparound LED lights and a highly modern spacious interior with space for up to seven adults. The front opening panoramic roof makes the inside of the new Discovery feel light and airy. Other clever and practical functions include ‘gesture control’ which allows you to open the boot and lower the tail gate by just waving a foot in front of it. If you have your hands full, there are up to nine USB points so all passengers can keep their phones charged. You can also fold the rear seats flat at the push of a button and keep a bottle cool in the front arm rest chiller. Air suspension lowers the whole vehicle to seamlessly allow you to comfortably climb in and out based on the terrain. The vehicles off-road geometry allows you to negotiate the toughest of obstacles. Real-time information such as Terrain Response allows you to select and adapt the response to suit the specific terrain. ‘Altering Progress Control’ enhances control over terrain such as ice, wet grass or sand. The strong and rigid aluminium structure is 480kg lighter than the previous model allowing better stability and better fuel economy. Safety features include ‘engine drag torque control’ to avoid wheels locking, ‘corner brake control’ which maintains stability and ‘dynamic stability control’ which prevents under steer and over steer. The all-new Land Rover Discovery comes with an electrically deployable tow bar and can even tell you if your trailer is correctly loaded. Aside from all of the clever tech features, this SUV is really beautiful to look at and the squarish look from the older model has been replaced with flowing curves and a much more elegant aerodynamic shape. Spring 2017 has been set as the release date for availability to purchase in the UK and the entry-level model starts at around £43,500.
